Going through withdrawal for some new Finale before the official debut album drops? No worries, we’ve got you covered. With a release date right around the corner, some artists would be celebrating, resting on their laurels even. For Finale, whose debut album, A Pipe Dream And A Promise, is being released April 7 via Interdependent Media, rest is not an option. Finale is staying hard at work in the studio, and instead of hogging all that good music for himself, he has released pre-album mixtape, T.I.M.E. (Think. Innovate. Move. Endure.) for free download.

The mixtape finds Finale at his best, giving fans a taste of the wide range of his artistic diversity. On the opening track, the soulful “Run It Back,” Finale wastes no time showing off his water-like flow and lyrics. Seeming to never run out of breath, Finale raps, “As I gather, replaying images and memories / I watch, and easily can see there’s not another spot I’d rather be / When I leave, I know we ain’t done/ And some of y’all act/ Like the city ain’t sitting on your back.” Elsewhere, on the track “Saturday,” Finale proves that his words flow off the tongue just as smoothly when spitting at a girl as when spitting at a foe. On “Jungle Music,” Finale takes listeners straight to a Detroit club with a double-time bounce and a double-time flow to match. Although short, with T.I.M.E. Finale gives fans free quality music to hold them over until the release of A Pipe Dream And A Promise.

Wildelux has been working on this album for 3 years now, and even though that seems like a long time, the quality of "Hustlemania" suggests that he's been working on it for much longer. I mean, the album is just THAT incredible. I think it's great that some artists out there are still keeping it real, and caring about the music that they put on the shelf. Wildelux is definitely worthy of extreme publicity and praise, but for that to happen, people need to open their eyes and realize what hip hop really is. If you are looking for real hip hop, then look no further. "Hustlemania" is the album you need. It is consistently amazing all the way through, boasting classics such as "Public Secret," "This 1 4 U," "Hungastrike," "Won't Die," "High Voltage," "Hustlemania," and pretty much every single other track on the album for that matter. Don't sleep on this album! Support real hip hop, and I promise you will not be disappointed. It is a real treat to listen to, and a definite gem in the rap game.

“Real Shit” is the debut album/compilation from French producer Djimon. Living on another continent didn’t stop him from compiling a solid line-up of up and coming MC’s, most of which are from North America. The best track of the album is also the best bit of promo he could ever ask for. DJ Premier’s protégé Blaq Poet rips his joint “Into the Warzone,” over a grimy beat that makes you want go out and just stomp someone. Throughout the chorus, Poet screams “Djimon,” something that would usually piss me off, (I’d rather hear lyrics not producer shout-outs,) but Poet’s flow is too ill and voice is too commanding to pay it any mind.

Djimon’s arsenal has grimy drums, sample heavy beats, smooth, jazzy joints and Primo-esque scratched hooks that all combine for a cohesive, focused sound. Listen closely and you may hear a couple of your favorite samples of the last few years get a new spin. Guest spots from established acts like Blaq Poet, Strange Fruit Project and Tribeca (remember them!) are mixed with ill tracks from new artists Free Speech, Willmatic, Ilwill and Akshun. The Justus League and some of their frequent collaborators invade the LP as well, Cesar Comanche, Sean Boog (of the Away team), The Undefined and L.E.G.A.C.Y. all contribute solid efforts.

MC’s, take my advice and get at Djimon before you can’t afford him!
