Guys! These cats are hot, good production matching well connected and very intelligent rhymes. Chapter 13's style is just like Little Brother/9th wonder but only deeper. I'll rate these cats as the best in the game alongside Little Brother.
Get this CD and support real Hip Hop.
On the real though, this is by far the best CD I've bought in years!!

FILI-
Had to post this again as the link was dead, plus the album dope as hell, don't sleep on Rashid Hadee, the next big MC/Producer after Bronze Nazareth & Black Milk!

With number 1 charting singles and worldwide album sales, SoulStice and Haysoos are both accomplished artists in their own right. SoulStice has recently released the much-acclaimed album, "North by Northwest: Solid Ground" and has been featured in XXL, SCRATCH, URB, Elemental and many more. SoulStice hails from Chicago, but currently resides in Maryland where Haysoos calls home. Both taking prominent roles in the east coast hip hop scene, a few collaborations eventually led to the smash single "Rock Solid," featuring former Terror Squad member Cuban Link. The single was so successful that the duo began recording an entire album as Wade Waters, which is due out on Wandering Soul in the fall of 2006 with distribution through Raptivism/Ryko. With a sound that readily appeals to hip hop fans of all types and a rapidly growing domestic and international buzz, Wade Waters is the group to watch in 2006 and beyond.

The debut album, Dark Water, finds SoulStice and Haysoos collaborating with the legendary AZ on the LPs lead-single, "Speak On It" (produced by Analogic) and former Terror Squad member Cuban Link on the smash single "Rock Solid" (produced by Shuko). In addition, Wade Waters captures the signature sound of D.C./Maryland with the aid of up-and-coming producer Kev Brown, who contributes production on "That's My." Additional production is handled by Analogic, Speaks, Bring it Back, and SBE Audiologist. According to Neil Levine, head of Urban Marketing at EMI/Caroline, Dark Water is "a classic gem from Wade Waters bringing back real hip hop."

01. What More (prod. Speaks)
02. Rock Solid feat. Cuban Link (prod. Shuko)
03. Wanna Be Free (prod. Shuko)
04. Speak On It feat. AZ (prod. Analogic)
05. Movement Music (prod. SBE Audiologist)
06. Back In Time (prod. Bring It Back)
07. Tread That Water (prod. SBE Audiologist)
08. Man To Man (prod. Analogic)
09. Right Back (prod. Analogic)
10. That's My (prod. Kev Brown)
11. Lifeline (prod. Analogic)
12. The Conversation (prod. Shuko)
13. Who But Me (prod. Speaks)
14. You Could Die (So Let's Live) (prod. Speaks)

Won't say to much except if you ain't heard this album, then you're missing out on one seriously dope album. Every track is a banger, with lashings of that soulful boom bap we all love to hear. SoulStice & Haysoos are some intelligent MC's and really flow well together while spittin on a real positive vibe that everyone can relate to. This is an album you cannot afford to let pass you by, look at the producers!!! It don't better than that. Get familiar with the likes of Analogic, Shuko, SBE, Kev Brown because they are the future right here. If you haven't already, make sure you cop the SoulStice solo album he dropped in 2007 called Dead Letter Perfect, here's the link... Dead Letter Perfect... Really dope album which features production from another ill producer, Oddisee, as well as Analogic & SBE... don't sleep!

The New Jersey native known as DJ K.O. (Keenan Ormsby) has teamed up with Shaman Work Recordings to release the best hip-hop compilation to come out in years.

Picture This... matches a seemingly endless roster of hip-hop's hottest MC's with an equally impressive group of producers. The result is a tribute to hip-hop's past, present, and future.

Veterans like Diamond D, OC, Masta Ace, and Edo G bring back the past, while lyricists like Talib Kweli, Elzhi (Slum Village), Phonte (Little Brother) and Royce da 5'9" represent today's hottest performers, and newbies like Skyzoo, Kaze, Supastition, Silent Knight and Tiffany Paige set the bar for what's to come. Featuring tracks produced by Black Milk, Buckwild Analogic, 9th Wonder and M-Phazes (to name a few) the album definitely has something for everyone.

The man behind this masterpiece is DJ K.O., who kept one thing on his mind when creating the line up: "I approached this as a hip-hop a fan, he says. "I thought about my own ideal collaborations and took it from there."

K.O. used his connections from the college radio show he hosted at Rutgers, along with spinning and promoting parties in NYC to get the ball rolling. In 2004, he formed Elementality Productions. It wasn't long until K.O. shared his vision with John Robinson, (member of What's The Science? and President of Shaman Work Recordings). Three years later, the finished product exceeds even K.O.'s expectations.

"Most of the songs are good, old-fashioned hip-hop," he explains. "There's a raw, angry gutter sound mixed with more smooth, soulful tracks."

With Picture This... hitting stores in September, KO's eyes are already set on the future. "I'm a lot more focused on the behind-the-scenes stuff than dee-jaying", he says. "The aspects of A&R, management, and executive producing are most appealing to me."

He also hopes to continue to provide a platform for new performers to be heard on a large scale.

"Nowadays, it's so hard to break an artist", he says. "I knew there were so many dope artists who just needed a chance to be heard."

1. Here We Go feat. East & Silent Knight (Produced by 9th Wonder)
2. Best To Do It feat. Royce Da 5'9", Elzhi & Supastition (Produced by M-Phazes)
3. Get 'Em feat. Silent Knight, Skyzoo & Emilio Rojas (Produced by ILLmind)
4. Someday feat. Torae, John Robinson, Talib Kweli & Tiffany Paige (Produced by Analogic)
5. Ladder of Success feat. Phonte, Wordsworth, K-Hill & Masta Ace (Produced by Analogic)
6. It's Time feat. SoulStice, Eternia, Kenn Starr & Tiffany Paige (Produced by M-Phazes)
7. Nobody Like Me feat. Edo G, Diamond D, Kaze & Mr. Mohalyn (Produced by Buckwild)
8. Mind of a Genius feat. Chaundon, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Finale & Sean Boog (Produced by Analogic)
9. 3 In The Chamber feat. O.C., Torae & Kaze (Produced by Ayatollah)
10. This Land feat. Silent Knight, J. Siinastah & Archrival (Produced by Analogic)
11. That Knack feat. Wordsworth, Stricklin & Torae (Produced by M-Phazes)
12. Start It All Over feat. Skyzoo, Emilio Rojas & Median (Produced by Black Milk) - Someday (Remix) feat. Torae, John Robinson, Talib Kweli & Tiffany Paige (Produced by Khrysis) - Best To Do It (Remix) feat. Royce Da 5'9", Elzhi & Supastition (Produced by Marco Polo)

FILI-
One of the best compilations released this decade!!! You can't help but jump out your seat when you peep the guests and producers... probably one of the best lineups ever. You got the current crop of some of the undergrounds biggest stars and some of the best up coming artists, From Elzhi to Silent Knight and from Ayatollah to Analogic... mix in some Black Milk, M-Phazes, Buckwild, 9th Wonder, Talib Kweli, Royce Da 5'9"... the list is endless, I probably only mentioned about half! It's so refreshing to hear all this on one solid album and solid it is, from lyrics to beats, it will defnitely have you nodding in appreciating to how well this project came together. A special thanks has to go to DJ K.O., producer/A&R of Elementality Records and definitely has a bright future with his label if this is anything to go by. The only tiny little thing that got to me was that it only has 12 tracks and with all the talent on the album you can't help but wish there was more. If this was maybe stretched to 16-17 tracks, this would've been an unstoppable album, an instant classic, it still might just become that in a couple of years. For now, enjoy what is a superb release and solidifies the fact the real hip hop is here to stay!

K-Def an unopposed underground beat legend, has been banging on his MPC for years. Beats From The 90's brings you some of his released and unreleased sampled, looped, soul-drenched; lost tracks. Found in a bag of dusted dats. Before leaving the House of Hits and changing over to computers, K-Def brought the heat out of his analog machines. The MPC 3000 and S-3000, were his main weapons, of choice. These tracks in question exemplifies that mid-'90s sound to such a degree that it serves up a veritable lesson in boom bap aesthetics, a flawless realization of how emotive, sonically rich and downright beautiful hip hop music can be when executed by a master.

1. Been There
2. Ain't No Crime
3. Monty
4. Dramaz
5. For Da Family
6. Crusading
7. Inner City Blues
8. Jam On It
9. Mont Man
10. Ron Beat
11. Spinner
12. Getting Hot
13. Take Your Time
14. Turtle Man
15. Been There Part 2
16. Urbiank

Another set of dope instrumentals following on from 2006's "Wille Boo Boo: The Fool" instrumental album. K-Def has to be one of the illest producers in the game and has been around for a minute, very underrated which is why that request for the Real Live album got me huntin again for more of his stuff to post up. This is the latest release from K-Def so don't sleep!

Check out his website for a full bio and production credits http://www.kdef.biz/

"I basically remixed the whole tape into 3 parts; one part is certin favorites from the original version like 'Cop & Go' and 'Never Sleep', another part is remixes of certin songs like 'Hold Tight,' 'Close Reach' and 'Bragging Rights,' and the last part is all new music like 'I Shine,' 'Raw Rap' and the single 'The Necessary Evils'.
