Finally! San Diego duo Nothin'Less and SaviorSelf follow up their heavily touted mixtape, "Under The Hood," with the official full length, "Under Surveillance"! featuring a guest appearance and contributions from Mestizo and a track produced by Nick Sena. The 2006 mixtape did exactly what it was supposed to do: with a collection of both original and borrowed beats, the two emcees emerged from the obscurity of the San Diego south bay, in National City's harsh west side, and soon became a talked about team of new blood reppin' their streets through the creative output of hip hop. Two years later, after countless shows in Southern California and abroad, so much has changed. Crime is up in our town, and the country is in no better condition with the economy in the gutter, and this 24 hour day in the life of Old English takes you on encounters from SD to Tijuana and overseas to the UK and Amsterdam combining experiences gathered in the short time that has passed since "Under The Hood." HerFavoriteColo(u)r is an EP from the darling of the underground hip-hop scene, Blu. It’s entirely self-produced, relying predominantly on jazz samples. But don’t think you’re getting a fully developed Blu album; HerFav is only 30 minutes long and half of it is instrumentals. It’s unpolished, but not in a bad way. It plays almost like a jam session. Blu not only continues to show off his personal and flavorful rhyme style, but also shows he’s really no joke on the beats either. Never heard of these guys? You may recognize them as 4 of the 13 MC's on the L.O.N.S posse-cut, "Spontaneous." This crew bares a striking, but grittier resembalance to the Leaders of the New School.

It's one of those NY albums that showed up and then dissapeared...and nobody seemed to notice. However, the album is decent. There's nothing that really stands out on this LP, but overall the sound is pure gritty, early 90's NY, so any fan of that will appreciate this.

Endemic is a hip hop producer from Nottingham, UK. He was born in 1979 in South London where he grew up until his early teens. As a producer, he works with US underground hip hop legends and with up and coming UK and European artists, producing high quality tracks. Early to mid nineties sound from New York, and more specifically the wu tang & boot camp clik groups, have strongly influenced Endemic’s style.

Endemic presents No Cure Mixtape vol. 1 which previews his debut LP "Terminal Illness". The album is coming on No Cure Records (UK & Europe) & EMI Records (USA & Canada) on March 24th, 2009.

Endemic has earned production features on indie LP's from both sides of the Atlantic, also producing a number of tracks on J-Ronin's All Elements mixtape series in NYC. On this mixtape he presents tracks with US underground hip hop legends and up & coming UK artists. This tape is mixed and cut by DJ Squigz (ohmygosh) and hosted by Brooklyn DJ J-Ronin.

The mixtape features exclusive tracks from the likes of Sean Price, Ruste Juxx, Timbo King, Planet Asia, Melanin 9, Cappo & Bronze Nazareth. Endemic provides eight of his productions to this mixtape including an exclusive cut from his forthcoming LP.

"Nothing Left to Say", reportedly Cage's response to a dead friend, is even more unhinged, Cage just ranting in spoken-word near-gibberish until the beat kicks in hard a minute and a half in.

Cage isn't rapping about scalping motherfuckers anymore, and he's lost a certain devil-may-care shock-rap joyousness in his transition to freaked-out adulthood. But "Nothing Left to Say" still drips with catharsis, partly because of Cage's own spittle-flecked intensity but mostly because of El-P's beat, which starts out as an ominous synth-tone wobble and turns into a disorienting industrial clatter. If and when Shia LaBoeuf ever gets around to making that Cage biopic he's been kicking around for a while, this one might soundtrack some sort of hitting-rock-bottom montage.
