With two solo records and a Jedi Mind Tricks' affiliated compilation of rare cuts and B-Sides under their belts (cumulative scans of 22,500+ units), Outerspace, the Philadelphia based duo of Planetary and Crypt The Warchild (and core members of the 40,000+ scanning Army of the Pharaohs supergroup), offer their third solo album: God's Fury. This album is dope, not as good as their first effort but probably as good if not better than their last album Blood Brothers. They decide to keep it close to home this time around by getting the majority of the AOTP camp on here. The beats didn't really jump out at me like they did on their last two albums but lyrically, they get better and better, especially Planetary, who is one of my favorite MC's from AOTP. I'd definitely day this is better than the Doap Nixon and King Syze albums, now it's left to JMT to see what kind of album they release for me to decide which is the best release from the AOTP camp this year. As it stands, this is the best one so far.

Army of the Pharaohs (AOTP) was initially conceived by lead emcee Vinnie Paz of the independent powerhouse group Jedi Mind Tricks. His vision was a constantly-evolving, collaboration of epic proportions that would include MC's, producers and DJ's. AOTP's first incarnation included Bahamadia, Jedi Mind Tricks, Chief Kamachi, 7L & Esoteric and Virtuoso and resulted in the wildly successful 12" single, "Five Perfect Exertions." The response was beyond all expectations and fans worldwide have clamored for more material ever since. 2006 saw the long awaited debut The Torture Papers, which has scanned 20,000+ units to date. The supergroup's sophomore offering, Ritual of Battle, reunites the winning formula, once again featuring the legendary lineup of underground emcees/artists including Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, Outerspace, Apathy, 7L & Esoteric, Celph Titled, Chief Kamachi, King Syze, Faez One as well as first time AOTP constituent (and renowned former Jedi Mind Tricks member) Jus Allah & many more. Of particular note (and to rabid core fan delight) is the inclusion of the first collaborative effort of original material between Jedi Mind Tricks' founding members Vinnie Paz & Jus Allah since 2000's Violent By Design. Ritual of Battle is released to heightened anticipation, shortly after Jedi Mind Tricks' return from a coveted slot on the entirety of the wildly popular Rock The Bells summer tour 2007.

The Torture Papers is the debut album from Hip Hop collective Army of the Pharaohs, released March 21, 2006 on Babygrande Records. The crew was established in 1998 by Jedi Mind Tricks rapper Vinnie Paz, and originally featured Paz, Chief Kamachi, Esoteric, Virtuoso and Bahamadia. Virutoso and Bahamadia later split from the group, which now conists of Paz, Chief Kamachi, 7L & Esoteric, Apathy, Crypt the Warchild & Planetary of Outerspace, King Syze, Reef the Lost Cauze, Faez One, Des Devious and Celph Titled. An Army of the Pharaohs collaboration album was rumored to be in the works for years, but was often delayed due to separate projects and internal problems. The constant delays lead to The Torture Papers being one of the most anticipated underground Hip Hop albums of the new millennium.

A straight up classic for me, I love AOTP and this album should be in every real hip hop heads collection. The main standout MC's for me on this album were Reef The Lost Cauze, Apathy, Celph Titled, Chief Kamachi & Planetary. All have their part to play though in making this album a true nod to that gutter underground boom bap sound with murder-death-kill lyrics, it don't get much harder than this. Make sure you cop this if you ain't already... Long Live The Army!!!

Let's start the day off with some newness from the Jedi Mind Tricks' camp. This one comes from Outerspace, which consists of Crypt The Warchild and Planetary. The single, "What The Future Holds" is off their new album, God's Fury. The LP drops 9/30 and is executive produced by Jedi Mind Tricks' Vinnie Paz. Grab the single below.

A.O.T.P. memeber, King Magnetic drops another ill mixtape which is backed by the Shadyville DJ's own Dre Boogs and JMT affiliate, DJ Kwestion. Expect nothing but lyrical fire from this dope MC!
I can't wait for an official debut album and the rumoured collaboration album with Philly legend, Reef the Lost Cauze. King Mag, along with Planetary, Chief Kamachi & Reef were the stars for me on the A.O.T.P. album "Ritual of Battle" so def keep an eye out for more releases from this guy!

Blood Brothers is the second full-length from emcees Planetary and Crypt the Warchild -- collectively known as Outerspace. Executive produced by Vinnie Paz of Philly's Jedi Mind Tricks, the album boasts slicker production values and a more eclectic sound than the group's previous efforts.

Outerspace receives quality production from a roster of lower-profile producers. The best-known here are J-Zone and 7L, who turn in one track apiece. But the most impressive come from relative unknowns such as Sake ("Blood Brothers (Intro)" and "Silence") and the Paris-based 707 Team ("Spanish Fly").

1. Blood Brothers (Intro)
2. Reign Of Chaos
3. Spanish Fly
4. U Don't Like Me feat. Sheek Louch
5. The Boiling Point
6. Drive By Music
7. Silence feat. Vinnie Paz
8. Grown Ass Man
9. Altered Beasts
10. Street Massacre feat. Royce Da 5'9"
11. Time Will Tell
12. Hustle And Flow feat. King Syze
13. The Last Laugh
14. Brute Force 2 feat. Vinnie Paz

Babygrande has been making a lot of moves lately as they've recently released the new 7L & Esoteric, a reissue of Violent By Design, and a September drop of Brand Nubian's new album to name a few. In between all of that they're also dropping Outerspace's (Crypt the Warchild and Planetary) first LP Blood & Ashes. Friends from nearly birth, the duo's brotherhood is closely tied in with Jedi Mind Tricks, thus a similar style is manifested. With guest microphone mathematics from Immortal Technique, Vinnie Paz, Esoteric, Celph Titled, King Syze and Sadat X as well as beats from Beyonder, 7L, Celph, Sat One and Panik of Molemen fame. More noise from Philly...

A definite classic in my book, the duo of Planetary & Crypt the Warchild of the famed A.O.T.P. fam drop a banger of a debut. With an ill sound similar to that of JMT but ultimately their own and a slew of talented guest stars who step up to the mic including underground intellectual MC, Immortal Technique, who closes the album on the brooding Angels of Death, old-skool stalwart Brand Nubian's frontman, Sadat X, and of course their main man, Vinnie Paz who transforms Blades of Glory into one of the album's stand-out tracks. These two dope MC's have risen from the shadows of Jedi Mind Tricks and dropped one the best debut's to come out in years!

King Syze is a core member of the Jedi Mind Tricks’ affiliated supergroup Army of the Pharaohs. Many have likened his witty, aggressive flow and his imposing presence on the mic to that of a young Big Pun.

Featuring a wealth of indie hip-hop’s most prominent players including fellow Pharaohs Vinnie Paz (Jedi Mind Tricks), Ill Bill (Non-Phixion & La Coka Nostra), Apathy, Outerspace & more, King Syze is poised to take the aggro indie hip-hop market by storm with his highly anticipated sophomore offering, The Labor Union.

This album is a massive step up for King Syze from his last album in '06, "Syzemology". Lyrically and production wise Syze brings the truth on this release. I gave it a couple listens and was surprised at how much it grew on me. Most, if not all the tracks come correct, especially the ones that feature fellow A.O.T.P. members. My personal fave has to be the track called "And Now" which has Vinnie Paz, King Syze & Apathy spittin deep verses about how the download industry is killing their artistry, seriously, if this tune don't make you reach into your pockets and support real hip hop like this then you just a leach... show luv people, this album is dope!!

The only mixtape with unreleased songs by Doap Nixon, Good Money, Reef the Lost Cauze & the first and only CD that has a solo Planetary track (Get Bucked). And many more. 20 tracks of underground hip hop and is on sale now. Also this is a sneak preview of the flames Doap Nixon is ready to bless the game with on his up coming solo debut- Sour Diesel. So this is a must grab. True story you need two, one for the crib and one for the whip.
