Just to let you know... J.J Brown did the same thing with Ludacris' acapellas from his last album, but this version pips that one!!

New Hampshire isn’t synonymous with hip hop music, but when Bugout and Doug York say they want to change that, it’s clear they’re serious. Together, the two lifelong friends make up the hip hop group Granite State. Be sure you don’t get it twisted though; this isn’t a pipe dream from some hack kids in the sticks....
Their critically acclaimed debut album, The Breaking Point, has turned the preconceived notion of what hip hop should sound like upside down. Blending together the edge of rock and 90’s boom bap, with an underlying essence of soul, Granite State has blurred the line between socially conscience and commercially entertaining. Granite State has chosen to blaze a new path and create their own lane. Their eclectic sound creates a new canvas they refer to as, “Nirvana The Game”, which means, “ strive to be original in a world of conformity.” Whether it’s getting personal on, "Said and Done", settling the score on, "My Sweet Revenge", or getting the party going with, "What Up B?!", the album represents an America rarely portrayed at all in today’s mainstream hip hop.
Backed by strong production from DC the MIDI Alien ( AZ, Army of the Pharoahs, 7L & Esoteric, Termanology), and Statik Selektah (AZ, Nas, KRS-One, Q-Tip, Royce the 5'9", Styles P, Jadakiss, Talib Kweli, Freeway) Granite State has exceeded the expectations of many, and associate their appeal to the void that needs to be filled within a dying culture.
Props to HHB

A Native of Alexandria, VA, Krohme became interested in music at an early age. From playing classical instruments to mixing records on his mother’s turntable, he developed an ear for music. Utilizing his own diverse musical interests, which included hip-hop, soul, rock, heavy metal and classical, he began sampling records to develop a unique musical library that he extended to local artists and, eventually, unsigned artists along the east coast.
It wasn’t until 2004 that Krohme began sending beat CDs off to record labels. Disappointed with a lack of response, he began reaching out to various artists and labels via the internet. He got in touch with GZA’s DJ and was able to get his music in the hands of the legendary MC as well as generate interest from other MC’s.
His first big break came when Hell Razah of Black Market Militia/Sunz of Man asked Krohme to produce a track for his upcoming solo album, working under a tight deadline. The resulting track was well-received and resulted in Hell-Razah requesting additional tracks.
Krohme started Godsendant Music in February 2005 and just released the first album through the label and his solo album, with guest appearances from Royce Da 5’9, MC Serch, Agallah, C-Rayz Walz, Hell-Razah, Chace Infinite, Triple Seis and more. The album has done well as an independent release selling 1000 copies in it’s first week.
He is currently working on releasing his South of Heaven album which will feature Ras Kass, Kool G Rap, Ill Bill, Chino XL, Agallah, C-Rayz Walz, Hell Razah, Cappadonna, Killah Priest and additional artists. He is also working on albums for the several artists under Godsendant Music.

Effect has been doing his thing for a while. From first picking up the mic at 8 to his first collaboration with Boston Music Award winner rapper/producer D-Tension on "They Want Real" at the age of 17 to releasing The Effect EP in 2005, Effect has been representing Boston in a big way. Do you know him? If not, you soon will. Born Jean Myrthil, Rise hails from the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. “The artist in Jean” has successfully, with little promotion, established himself as one of the more prominent independent artists. Rise has become a household name within the underground circuit. In 1998, he expanded his role for a commercial appearance on the famed “Lyricist Lounge Volume 1” album on Rawkus Records which garnered attention from much of the important music industry. Rise began his career stunning the hip hop community with feature after feature of recordings with established producers, independent artists, and underground mixtape appearances. Industry insiders began to take note early on and were impressed by his hustle, talent and pure ambition.
In 1999, after running into Rise at many of those famed Lyricist Lounge ciphers, then up-and-coming MC, Apathy, noticed Rise’s impeccable skills and the two began spitting their clever rhymes back and forth, impressing each other respectfully. That connection further lead up to Rise becoming a member of the now world renown Demigodz collective and sparked classic recordings such as “The Smackdown”, “Every Emcee”, and eventually contributing razor sharp verses to the mega-popular “The Godz Must Be Crazy” EP released in 2002.
From his humble beginnings, Rise raised the bar for hip hop by formulating a distinct delivery with an abundance of witty punchlines, vivid storytelling and thought-provoking verses. Collecting more fans as he travelled through the New York City underground show circuit, he built a name for himself amongst his contemporaries as the rapper to emulate. Rise has managed to gain attention from the worldwide hip-hop community by touring Japan, Sweden and Denmark. Rise was also able to fulfill his dream of starting his own label with the introduction of his very own, Results Period Records.

The group has since split to go their seperate ways soon after this EP was released so don't sleep on this hard to find classic. The track "Sweetest Language" is one of 9th's best beats, check out the audio. Also has one track produced by the mighty Khrysis.

It's not quite an indie hip-hop Postal Service, nor is it necessarily "Ebony And Ivory," but the new collaborative LP from Jewish MC Kosha Dillz and beloved backpack favorite C-Rayz Wallz is both a statement of cultural solidarity and creative open-mindedness. Freestyle Vs. Written will appear on Modular Moods this fall (with a pre-release via iTunes in late summer) and finds Dillz, the Yeshiva-trained wordsmith, trading well-crafted versus about his faith and homeland of Israel with freestyle responses from Walz that were inspired by Dillz' lines. And the whole thing was laid down in less than 24 hours, which was, by Dillz' own admission, as much a matter of necessity as studio synergy.
"Personally, I just knew it would be impossible to get C-Rayz in a place for more than three hours, six hours at a time," he laughs, adding that it was spread out over three sessions. "My part was well though out. His part, he just came into the studio and did it every time, right off the top [and] worked off some keywords... That was the way I wanted him to do it."
And while it may seem like a strange combination and an even stranger thematic focus for two people of disparate backgrounds, partial impetus was to remind people of the connection between black and Jewish journeys.
"That was a big point of the record," says C-Rayz. "Black Jews/children of Israel/descendants of Moses are the same. [There's] some different views here and there like with everything. The skin tones changed cuz of climate and migration."
Historical connections or not, who would turn down the chance to swap lyrical spit with someone who whips out one-line wonders like Dillz' "4/20's Hitler's birthday, so why does everybody smoke weed?"
"Kosha flexed numerous [styles] on this album with a lot of content like an Aesop Rock," says Walz, "but heavy on the boom-bap hip-hop rhythm that makes it real street... The LP is bad. Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good. Huh!"
